Description
Over six classes you will be introduced to the amazingly beautiful world of floristry. From sourcing and conditioning to the elements of design you’ll learn how to make a selection of stunning arrangements and pieces to take home. This course is suitable for complete beginners or those with some florisrtry nohow who would like to learn some new techniques. This small friendly class will be limited to six people and will be a fun and enjoyable way to master some new skills. All materials, tools and light refreshments included.
Week one – Wednesday 23rd April – Learn how to source, select and condition flowers and how make and package a handtied bouquet
Week two – Wednesday 30th April – An introduction to the principles and elements of designs including how to combine different colours, textures and shapes. Using your new skills you’ll learn how to create a asymmetrical design
Week three – Wednesday 7th May – This week you’ll master how the wire flowers and foliage and will use this technique to make a flower crown
Week four – Wednesday 14th May – In this session you’ll be shown how to use florist foam and sustainable alternatives. Using this skill you’ll create a double ended table arrangement that can be adapted for Christmas or event decoration
Week five – Wednesday 21st May – In this week’s class we will look at gluing techniques and using either fresh, silk or dried flowers you’ll get the opportunity to make either and wrist corsage, hair piece or handbag decoration
Week six – Wednesday 28th May – In your final session you’ll learn about dried flowers and will make a seasonal dried flower door wreath
In the unforeseen event a workshop has insufficient numbers to run, attendees will be refunded or offered an alternative date/time
